Jardin Nelson Mandela
The Jardin Nelson-Mandela, formerly the Jardin des Halles, is a green space of about four hectares in the middle of the Les Halles neighborhood of the 1st arrondissement, at the center of the city of Paris, France.
It was created in the 1980s on the site of the former Halles de Paris market. The garden sits on the slab covering the Forum des Halles, a shopping center that also houses a few cultural activities. The garden includes several lawns and numerous plantings of trees and shrubs. Notable features include the Jardin des Enfants (children's garden), a tropical greenhouse buried underground, and the Place René-Cassin, which forms a small amphitheater.
