The 2008 Clean & Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond describes a 66.6-acre park off Elk Street and O'Shaughnessy Blvd, with a 1934 recreation center and the 1960 Silver Tree Day Camp, and funds repair of the rec center, play area, day camp, courts and field. Arts Commission minutes record selecting three finalists for the Glen Canyon Park Recreation Center public-art project. Mid-century redevelopment reports describe an 80-acre naturally wooded canyon with a day camp. Building permits for the park total about $9.8 million, led by an $8.2 million 2015 phase-II renovation and seismic retrofit. The park is operated by the Recreation and Park Department, whose FY2025 budget line totals about $250M.
