Juri Commons is a strip of the Mission the city bought on purpose. The general manager's 1975 report on the Open Space Acquisition and Park Renovation Fund lists, among that year's Mission priorities, the acquisition of the mini park site commonly known as "Juri Commons" — set beside the acquisition of a gymnasium site in the central Mission and a park site near the proposed senior citizens' centre in the Tenderloin. The city's property register still carries it under that description: OPEN SPACE (JURI COMMONS), 326 San Jose Avenue, Recreation and Park, 10,433 square feet. Being small has not kept it out of the city's measurement systems. The Controller's park maintenance scores track it year by year alongside Garfield Square and the Mission Recreation Center — 90.4 percent in 2007-08, 95.6 percent in 2008-09, then 86.6 percent at the halfway point of 2009-10 — and the reports print both the park's own score and the change from the year before, so a dip is as visible as a rise.
