What counts as a place here?
225 of the best-known facilities, selected by Qipu: pools, parks, theatres, museums, squares, markets, churches the City owns. The selection is not exhaustive. For each, what the Conseil de Paris decided and what the City paid.
Paid or ceiling: what is the difference?
A place’s amount is what the City really paid: grants to the operator and works settled according to its accounts. When it does not publish that, it is the ceiling of the contracts signed, never both added up. 43 places have no amount: nothing says they cost nothing, day-to-day running costs are not broken down by place.
Where do these numbers come from?
The Conseil de Paris deliberations, read one by one; the municipal bulletin digitised by the BnF, since 1882; the grants paid and the administrative accounts published by the City. Every fact on a fiche carries its link.
