Find a town

By name; the département helps when two towns share one.

The numbers come from the towns' annual accounts, published by the DGFiP and the OFGL.

Understand

What is on each town's page

The same page for all 34,932: what the town spends in the year, per resident and against its neighbours; what the money is for, function by function, where the accounts detail it; works, purchases, taxes and debt where the source gives them. Paris and Marseille also have their grants, contracts, places and debt, because the cities publish that data.

Where these numbers come from

This page's number and the spending per resident come from the OFGL's base of towns, the Observatory of local public finance, financial year 2024: total spending net of loan repayments. The town pages read the accounting balances the DGFiP publishes, up to 2025.
